Zimbabwe main opposition party, the MDC-Alliance’s Deputy National Chairperson Job Sikhala, has been freed on RTGS $5,000 bail.

Masvingo High Court judge, Justice Neville Wamambo granted the Zengeza West legislator bail and ordered him to surrender his passport to the clerk of court at Bikita Magistrates court.

Sikhala was arrested on allegations of subverting a constitutionally elected Government after he allegedly told party supporters at a rally in Bikita that the MDC Alliance plans to overthrow the Government.

Sikhala is alleged to have said: “We are going to take the fight to the doorsteps of (President) Emmerson Mnangagwa, we are going to overthrow him before 2023, that is not a joke.”
