The Zimbabwe anti-corruption commission (Zacc) has preferred four more charges against Presidential Affairs Minister Joram Gumbo.

Gumbo, who was arrested on Monday on graft charges, now faces eight counts of criminal abuse of office.

The fresh charges emanate from the Minister’s involvement in the purchase of old turbines for Kariba hydro power station, and the purchase of snow graders instead of road construction equipment.

Gumbo is also accused of being involved in money laundering as well as authorising a tender that had a high court embargo against it.

Zacc commissioner frank muchengwa told ZTN that the minister was expected in court on Wednesday.

“Once we are done with the recording of statements, the Minister will appear in court,” he said.

Gumbo was initially set to appear in court earlier on Tuesday for initial remand but was called back to Zacc offices before the court case could begin.
