72-Year-Old Up For Criminal Nuisance

A 72-year-old Borrowdale man has appeared before the courts facing a criminal nuisance charge.
Investigators heard that on the 7th of February 2022, John William unlawfully and intentionally rode his horse up and down outside Evershed Helen’s brick wall, peeping into her yard while taking pictures without permission.
Helen and a colleague Yitibarek Tekie, then started chasing William with their car whilst he was riding on his horse along Cosham Road in Borrowdale in a bid to find out why he was patrolling their premises and taking pictures.
The debacle continued for a while along several roads as they tried to stop William. He kept on cantering and refused to stop, eventually galloping off. William and Tekie are currently in litigation in a case where Helen is a witness.
Helen filed a report at Borrowdale Police Station leading to the arrest of William.
William who was represented by Munyaradzi Midzi, had also placed a charge of attempted murder against Helen and her partner for chasing and attempting to kill him while he rode his horse.
He was not asked to plead to the charges and is expected back in court on April 20 for trial.
