Zimbabwe refining government architecture

The Zimbabwe Government says it is refining its architecture, and major system changes will soon be noticeable.

Briefing journalists on 2024 State milestones in the capital, Harare, on Friday, Acting President Kembo Mohadi said “sufficient preparations” for this alignment have already been made.

The Acting President also spoke on the economy, homing in on the Zimbabwe Gold (Zig), which, he said, has brought market stability.

On politics, he said the Southern African nation has remained united, and authorities are pursuing community-led solutions to historical grievances stemming from post-Independence civil disturbances in Matabeleland, commonly referred to as “Gukurahundi”.

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to realise our Vision 2030. We are fine-tuning the whole of Government architecture – all our systems to be responsive to what we want to achieve and better serve the people.

“It cannot be business as usual. You will see marked changes in the way we conduct business. We need the hunter spirit in our operations and all I can tell you is that sufficient preparations for this (have) been made.”

Turning to agriculture, he said the current wet spell augers well for crops.

“We are enthused about the prospects of the year. The Gods have smiled on us. We are receiving rain which is good for our crops and pastures.”

On sporting facilities which have fallen behind regional and international standards, the Acting President said they were being attended to.

“We are finalising the long-awaited installation of the bucket system for the national sports stadium and of course modernising other related facilities.”

Lately, Zimbabwe’s national teams are hosting matches abroad primarily because stadiums have been deemed substandard by international sports governing bodies like FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
