Action starved Musona returns

Zimbabwe captain Knowledge Musona returns to the Warriors squad despite being inactive at senior club level for close to a year.

The Warriors captain is yet to play a full competitive game for his senior club team since March this year after failing to convince his coaches in Belgium.

The 29-year-old led the Warriors at the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Egypt in June and his lack of match fitness was evident in an error-strewn performance.

Recently he was getting a run for his club’s developmental side and might have been included in the squad at the insistence of Warriors poster boy Khama Billiat.

But getting a starting berth in the national side might be very difficult with players like McCauley Bonne of Charlton Athletic also brought in to address the team’s goal-scoring weaknesses.

Leicester City striker Admiral Muskwe is also in the fold and has made a strong case in being considered for a long term role to lead the Warriors line.
