Bank cards fraudster in the dock

A 22-year-old Chitungwiza man, Tranos Muzanenhamo appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi on Tuesday facing four counts of fraud amounting to over half a million Zimbabwe dollars.

Muzanenhamo worked for a local bank where he fraudulently opened an account.

Investigators say his luck ran out when he was filmed using the unsuspecting victim’s bank card at a shopping mall in Harare’s Belvedere suburb.

Muzanenhamo is a repeat offender who had been on the run prior to his arrest.

He was remanded in custody to Wednesday for his bail hearing.
