The Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) has extended the deadline for submission of application for television broadcasting licences to May 29 this year.
Initially the deadline was Friday March 20.
In a statement on Wednesday, BAZ chief executive officer Obert Muganyura said, “This extension is due to requests and representations that have been made to the Authority by prospective applicants and stakeholders for extension”.
Six Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) licences will be issued.
Zimpapers Television Network (ZTN) is one of the companies vying for a broadcasting license.
The company has already made a mark in the market with its online streaming services.
