Northern Region Division one side Beta X1 have appointed Ikabort Masocha as their head coach for the upcoming season, replacing fired Prince Kadewere.

Beta X1 Secretary General Dickson Musa said they were looking for a coach with a CAF A licence and have settled for Masocha.

To get the job Masocha beat the likes of, Paul Chimalizeni, Newsome Mutema, Mike Madzivanyika, and Lloyd Chigowe.

Masocha guided Swaziland National first division one club Mbabane Citizens to the MTN premier league.

He was also at the helm of DSTV Rangers when it survived relegation in 2014 and was assistant to Lloyd Chitembwe at Starbil.

On the coach’s appointment Musa said they do not want to give the new coach pressure.

‘’We just want to finish on a respectful position and build a team for the future.

‘’As per our norm we don’t want to give the new coach pressure, but enough time to build his team that will challenge for honours in the coming two to three years,” said Musa.

Commenting on his latest appointment Masocha hailed his predecessor.

‘’I am promising to continue from where coach Prince left, and it is going to be a mammoth task to fill those shoes, but I will try.

‘’As you know I will also add new things and tactics to the team, considering the experience I have had all my coaching life’’ said Masocha.
