Warriors star forward Khama Billiat has called on authorities to help the regularisation of papers for more European based players with Zimbabwean origins.

Billiat carried the weight of an expectant nation when he scored the deciding goal to send Zimbabwe to the group stages of the 2022 Fifa world cup qualifiers, at the expense of Somalia.

Players like stand-in skipper Alec Mudimu and Tendayi Darikwa have galvanised the Warriors’ backline, and the Kaizer Chiefs star talked of how important they are.

“They know the time to be at the right place, how to anticipate, (but) we also need players who are playing in Africa that make up a team.

“We need everyone who is eligible to play for the team to come, it brings more competition and makes a stronger team,” he said.

Several players have been sounded for Warriors duty like Macauley Bonne and Reiss Nelson, but there have been challenges for them to secure Zimbabwean passports.

Though, there is work being done behind the scenes to bring them on board, Billiat said he remains loyal and ready to do duty for the nation.

“For me it has always been a pleasure, we always wanted to represent the country since we were young and getting that goal, we really appreciate it.

“I want to play as many games as I can whilst I am still able to run. So I was really humbled to get that last minute call. It is my nation, I really want to do something about it,” he said.
