Bogus Cop Reports For Duty, Gets Arrested

Tired of practising far away from a sound office, a daring Harare woman, Trish Barewa, aged 24, was arrested on Monday last week at ZRP Support Unit after she ‘reported for duty’ clad in police uniform.

She ran out of luck as discrepancies in her dressing sold her out to an alert police officer who quickly interviewed and subsequently arrested her for impersonation.

National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident to ZTN.

“We are conducting investigations to establish where she got the police uniform and definitely the law will take it's course,” said Assistant Commissioner Nyathi.
