Chibuku Super Cup draw: PSL giants avoid each other

Castle Lager Premiership top sides avoided each other in the Chibuku Super Cup draw on Tuesday.

The competition reverts to the traditional knockout format, from the preliminary round, having conducted in a mini-league format in the previous edition.

The draw was conducted basing on the log standings of Matchday 17.

It runs from August 6 to November 19 and the matches will be broadcast on ZTN Prime.

The four bottom-placed will clash in the preliminary stage with WhaWha facing Cranborne Bullets while ZPC Kariba clash with Bulawayo City.

The top-eight, as of Matchday 17, were seeded.

Defending champions FC Platinum face minnows Tenax in the first round while Dynamos will wait for winners between WhaWha and Cranborne Bullets.

Ngezi Platinum, last edition’s runners-up, have been tasked to host Herentals.

The Mondoro Ngezi-based side on Monday sacked head coach Benjani Mwaruwari over poor results.

He has since been replaced by Takesure Chiragwi, on interim basis.

Quarter-finals:17-18 September
Semi-finals: 15-16 October
