Covid-19: Chigova says football can wait

With the Covid-19 epidemic putting all sporting activity across the world on pause Zimbabwe international goalkeeper George Chigova reckons there are times when the famous statement that football is bigger than both life and death does not hold true.

Legendary former Liverpool coach Bill Shankly once famously quipped:

“Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it’s much more serious than that.”

However, in an interview with ZTN on Friday Chigova, who is on the books of Absa Premiership side Polokwane City, said football is not the most pressing matter in the world right now.
