Zimbabwe is yet to test cross border truck drivers entering the country.
Recently, it was reported they were only being tested for temperature.
At the moment, every Zimbabwean returnee is placed under a mandatory 21-day quarantine.
But, the same drivers are accused of smuggling people from neighbouring countries, especially South Africa without them being tested.
Recently, six drivers tested positive for the virus after crossing into Zambia.
This week, four more drivers tested positive after entering Malawi from Zimbabwe.
Environmental Health Director in the Ministry of Health and Child Care, Victor Nyamande made the shocking revelations to ZTN, adding that plans are underway to ensure they are compliant.
“The ministry will start testing cross border truck drivers tomorrow (Saturday).
We have been preparing and overcoming challenges associated with the purchase of rapid testing kits,” he said.
