Dembare, Bosso square off in Chibuku cup

The battle of Zimbabwe headlines the 2019 Chibuku Super Cup draw that was held in Harare this afternoon (Monday).
This year’s tournament is set to have eighteen teams participating for the trophy, prize money as well as the ticket to represent the country in the Confederation of African Football tournament.
The draw saw holders, Triangle Football club, being drawn against Herentals. Meanwhile Dynamos face their perennial rivals Highlanders, while Lloyd Chitembwe’s Harare city will clash with Caps United.
Preliminary round matches are to be played by teams occupying positions 15 to 18 as of match day 17 in the Premier soccer league. Mushowani Stars will face Bulawayo Chiefs for the right to play against Ngezi Platinum Stars. Telone FC will take on Yadah FC where the winner will play against Black Rhinos.
Both games are scheduled to be played on September 7 at Mandava stadium.
The first round matches will be played during the weekend of 28-29 September.
In last year’s final, Triangle United beat Harare City 2-0 to lift the 2018 Chibuku Super Cup for the first time in their history, at Gibbo Stadium.
