DeMbare primed for derby

Despite the dwindling fortunes of Dynamos and CAPS United, DeMbare coach Tonderayi Ndiraya says a clash between the two Harare giants has not lost its gloss, ahead of Sunday’s league match at Rufaro Stadium.

It used to be a clash of the titans, a game marked on every football supporter’s calendar in Zimbabwe, and the DeMbare coach feels it still is.

“This is a big match no doubt about that and possibly the biggest in the country. When Dynamos play CAPS it is always big,” said Ndiraya.

Their recent form, however, has not been inspiring as they clash in the first instalment of the Harare derby.

CAPS United is just two points behind the leaders, while Dynamos trail the early pacesetters by a massive nine points.

But, Ndiraya is happy with the attitude his men have shown at training ahead of the weekend clash.

“I saw a different attitude this week, perhaps it is because we are playing a derby.

“They say when you play a derby you do not need to motivate the players because they know what is it at stake.

“So that is exactly what happened this week, different attitude altogether than what we have seen in the past so I am hoping they will carry the same attitude into the game on Sunday,” said Ndiraya.
