Did Kaizer Chiefs Sign Dolly To Bring Best From Khama?

KAIZER Chiefs’ biggest goal this transfer window seems to have been bringing the best out of Khama Billiat.
The Soweto giants have now managed to sign highly-rated Keagan Dolly after the expiry of his contract at French club Montpellier.
That signing has now re-created the famous Castro (Leonardo), Billiat and Dolly (CBD) that won a treble for Mamelodi Sundowns during the 2015/16 season in which they were unchallenged in Africa.
Initially, Kaizer Chiefs had also tried to sign Zimbabwean captain Knowledge Musona for the coming season. That move could still have helped Khama redeem himself given the two players’ history from Aces Youth Academy and the Warriors team.
Speaking to Amakhosi Media, Dolly was optimistic the combination, CBD, could still bring back the good times.
“Hopefully now we can bring all that we’ve learned throughout the last couple of seasons at our different clubs and come back together and work hard for the team, score more goals and just encourage each other,” Dolly was quoted as saying.
“We’re still quite close. We speak quite often, myself and Khama [especially], and it’s exciting times to play with them again. I always thought that we had a good connection back when we played together at Sundowns.”
So the big question is, will Khama rise again?
The Warriors star faced a lot of criticism over his performances since joining Kaizer Chiefs, a situation that was not made any better by injuries and a strained relationship with the last coach. Khama was magical in Zimbabwean colours, but a pale shadow of himself in black and gold.
The two-year new contract extension, belief from coach Stuart Baxter and fresh blood in the team could just be the recipe that could bring the best out of the talented Khama.
