THE ZIMBABWE Under 19 cricket team’s failure to qualify for the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Super League could be an indication that the senior team, the Chevrons, could continue to struggle in the coming years.

The Prosper Utseya-coached side lost their first two Group C matches against Bangladesh and Pakistan.

On Wednesday Zimbabwe lost by 39 runs after failing to chase a target of 294 for 4 set by Pakistan in 50 overs. They only managed 255-all out in 46.3 overs.

The results in the first two round of matches mean Bangladesh and Pakistan will compete in the last eight.

Zimbabwe and Scotland will now participate in the plate contest which will determine positions nine to 16 after their last group match.
