Police in Zimbabwe are on the hunt for a suspected Coronavirus patient who escaped from Wilkins Hospital upon admission. The patient, a 26-year-old male arrived from Thailand recently and completed the incubation process. Thailand has recorded 50 Coronavirus cases to date.

Harare City Health Director, Dr Prosper Chonzi says the suspect was whisked away by his father from the hospital.

ā€œIt is sad that the patient in question had to escape treatment. He had completed the incubation process, and upon arrival at the hospital for admission, while medical officers were escorting him to the isolation room, he was whisked away by his father.

ā€œWe have reported the case to the police and we are working hand in hand with them to try and locate the patient as soon as possible and bring then to the hospital for admissionā€, he said.

Zimbabwe has dealt with five suspected Coronavirus cases so far and four have tested negative.
