HARARE Magistrate Peter Mujaya on Friday sentenced former Zinara Finance Director, Simon Taranhike to 30 months in prison for criminal abuse of office.
He was convicted of misappropriating 1800 litres of fuel and petty cash during his tenure in office.
Taranhike will serve an effective 15 months in prison as the other 15 months were suspended. Of the suspended months, nine months were set aside on condition that he repays the coupons of fuel he prejudiced Zinara and six months were set aside on condition he does not commit a similar crime in the next five years.
