ZIMBABWEAN golfer Benjamin Follett-Smith has secured the Asian tour card for the 2020 season.

The 23-year-old had tried to qualify twice in vain but this time he delivered in style, topping the score card with a five-day total of 15-under-par 340 at the Lake View Resort and Golf Club in Thailand.

He was one of 35 graduates from the tournament.

Follet-Smith joins another Zimbabwean Scot Vincent on a stage that could help him realise his potential.

Given the competition he has to face the Zimbabwean, who turned professional in 2017, was surprised by his own performance.

“It’s amazing to win this. There are so many positives to take away from this week. It’s just one of the biggest for me.

“This was exactly what I wanted to do. Nothing has really sunk in yet. It’s just been tough,” Follett-Smith was quoted by Golf Australia as saying.
