Former Studio 263 Actress Anne Nhira Dies

FORMER studio 263 actress, Anne Nhira, has died. She was 38.
Nhira succumbed to injuries sustained in a robbery in South Africa.
“She sustained injuries on her chest area, rib cage and back during a robbery on Monday afternoon in Bedford view, South Africa,” her brother Juan Nhira confirmed.
Nhira made a mark in the acting industry in 2002 when she played the role of “Vimbai Jari” in the popular Zimbabwean soap Studio 263. She took a break from acting and returned in 2013 when she featured in a South African film “The Rapist” as one of the lead actresses.
In the same year, she featured in a joint South Africa and Zimbabwe soapie “Ndafunga Dande.” The soap portrayed the life of Zimbabweans in the diaspora and the challenges and opportunities they faced.
In 2014 she had a role in the soap “Zabalaza” which showed on Mnet and SABC. She also featured in a South African television drama “Mutual Friends.”
In an interview on Star FM radio on Thursday, Studio 263 producer and actor, Ben Mahaka, described the late Anne Nhira as a talented and hard-working actress.
