Grade seven pupil killed after exam

A grade seven pupil from Sandara Primary School in Gweru was on Tuesday killed by a mentally-challenged man while going home after an examination. 

Acting Midlands police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Ethel Mukwende said the man hit the girl in the head with a stone.

The suspect is in police custody.

“We are investigating a case of a grade seven pupil who was struck with a stone in the head by a  man suspected to be mentally-disturbed. The girl died on the spot. It is alleged that when she got to Mtapa Shopping Centre in Mtapa high density suburb, a man emerged from behind and hit her with a stone near her ear.”
