PRIVATE health players said they are open to complementing government efforts in providing quality health care in the country.

This was said by the Private Healthcare Association of Zimbabwe (PHAZ) chair Timothy Goche ahead of the November 3 and 4 Health Expo slated for Rainbow Towers.

The expo will be a convergence of senior health officials, medical practitioners and health care professionals for networking and exploring emerging innovations, technologies and solutions for the day.

The health expo will be running under the theme Healthcare Stakeholders Opportunities and Sustainability and all medical and healthcare institutions, manufacturers, and suppliers of medical equipment and pharmaceuticals will be exhibiting from November 3 to November 4.

“We are calling all stakeholders in the healthcare delivery system to explore opportunities that are available. As private players we are complementing the government efforts in the delivery of quality health services to the populace of Zimbabwe.

“we would want to create a situation where we would see inbound medical tourism when our services and facilities are well coordinated. We have the potential and capacity to draw clients from all over the globe,” he said.

Goche said the expo is meant to bring answers to challenges healthcare players in the country face.

“People are having challenges in procurement such as medical equipment from outside the country so we would want to encourage the manufacturing of things such as drugs, PPE and if these are done locally we will realize the coming down of costs of the consumables in the healthcare delivery system,” he said.

The event will be open to policy makers, clients in the medical field and the public.
