ZIMBABWE could be drawn against hosts Cameroon or neighbors Zambia in the 2020 CHAN finals.
Cameroon, in Pot 1 will be strong at home while DRC, in Pot 2, have a strong squad from their locally-based players at AS Vita and TP Mazembe.
It will be a tough test for the newly appointed Zimbabwe coach Zdravko Logarusic who will require much support from his assistants.
Going into the draw in Cameroon tonight, Zimbabwe are lowly ranked in Pot 4 along with Niger, Togo, and Tanzania.
From Pot 1, if the Warriors avoid hosts Cameroon, they could face Morocco, Libya or Zambia.
Pot 2 has DRC, Guinea, Mali or Rwanda.
Teams in Pot 3 are Uganda, Congo, Namibia and Burkina Faso.
At his unveiling last week, coach Logarusic stated that he has not taken up the role to teach “skill”, but “tactics”.
Pot 1 – Cameroon, Morocco, Libya and Zambia
Pot 2– DRC, Guinea, Mali and Rwanda
Pot 3 – Uganda, Congo, Namibia and Burkina Faso
Pot 4 – Zimbabwe, Niger, Togo and Tanzania
