Former People’s Democratic Party president Tendai Biti, who is now the MDC Alliance vice-president, and five of his party members have bounced back in the National Assembly after the High Court reversed their recall.

High Court judge Justice Tsanga ruled that the man who recalled them was not from PDP.

Biti, Willias Madzimure of Kambuzuma, Settlement Chikwinya — Mbizo, Kucaca Ivumile Phulu — Nkulumane, Sichelesile Mahlangu — Pumula and Regai Tsunga — Mutasa South were recalled from Parliament by a PDP faction last month.

One Benjamin Rukanda, who claimed to be PDP secretary-general, wrote to the Speaker of the National Assembly Advocate Jacob Mudenda advising him that the six were no longer representatives of his party.

The six joined the MDC Alliance on a PDP card.

Justice Tsanga ruled that Rukanda was not the the secretary-general of the party and had no right to recall them.
