ZIMBABWE’S newly installed football king Joel Ngodzo is full value for the Soccer Star of the Year gong.

And he knows it.

“I had no doubt that I was the winner, I have ten goals and am a midfielder while the person that people said was my rival for the award Prince (Dube) is a striker and has about six goals. I also have the most assists,” the Caps United man told ZTN soon after his crowning moment.

“I have been making the soccer stars for the past three seasons and was a first runner up once. I felt it was about time I won the big one. Glory to God…I also want to thank my teammates. This is not about Josta but the whole team.”

The 30-year-old Makepekepe talisman now wants to cap it all by inspiring his team to the league title.

“This is not the end of the road, we have two games left and we have to win both and become champions,” added Ngodzo who has also seen action with Highlanders and FC Platinum.

Triangle midfielder Ralph Kawondera was the voted first runner up while Bosso man Dube, who was tipped for the big one on some quarters, came third. Chicken Inn coach Joey Antipas scooped the coach of the year award while Brighton Chimene walked away with the referee of the year award.
