It is a must win match for Ireland against Samoa on Saturday and they need a bonus point to guarantee themselves a place in the quarterfinals of the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Anthything short of that will have Ireland’s fate being decided in Yokohama where Japan face Scotland.

Typhoon Hagibis may however also have a part to play. Concerns had also been raised over the state of the pitch.

The other two games that were set for Saturday – England v France and New Zealand v Italy – were already cancelled.
