‘Jah Prayzah’s Apple Did Not Fall Far Off From The Tree’

When Jah Prayzah’s son Mukudzei Junior dropped his single “Rovai
Ngoma”, some three weeks ago, the Zimbabwean music scene went
ablaze.
Many a critic wanted to know who wrote the lyrics to the song that is
receiving heavy rotation on radio and has hit over 700 thousand
views on YouTube.
Well Mukudzei Junior has opened up on the journey that culminated
in the song “Rovai Ngoma”, revealing that he has always had a
passion for music.
Speaking on the ZTN programme Diplomatic Passport, the music
starlet revealed how a trip to his father’s studio turned into a song
writing expedition.
He said, “I told my father I was interested in recording a song in one
of his studios.When I got there he was going about his business and I
began to work on a song with his producer, who helped me with
some of the lyrics to my song. When I was done recording my father
approved it.”
Apart from being a singer and a song writer, Mukudzei Junior also
plays the keyboard.
