Job Sikhala’s Freedom Bid Continues

The bail hearing for MDC Alliance Vice Chairperson Job Sikhala continued on Monday morning at the Harare magistrates court, with the defence’s lead counsel Harrison Nkomo cross-examining the investigating officer.

The hearing will continue tomorrow at 9am when both the state and defence are expected to cross examine more witnesses. Advocate Eric Matinenga who is part of the legal team, expressed disgruntlement with the bail hearing.

‘’Defence counsel was double booked, so we could not continue with the hearing. We are not happy because bail is to be treated as an urgent matter, but however we are back here tomorrow to do our best to get Mr Sikhala bail, “ he said.

Sikhala is facing charges of inciting public violence in connection with protests that were planned for July 31 by opposition groups.
