Little surprises in soccer star selection

Castle Lager Premier Soccer Stars of 2019 were unveiled in Harare on Wednesday as the organisers’ chose to utilise an online voting system.

Highlanders and Caps United contributed two players each to the 11 Castle Lager Soccer Stars of the Year that were selected today.

Highlanders goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda who has 16 clean sheets and man-of-the moment Prince Dube made it from the Bulawayo giants with the Caps United pair of Joel Ngodzo and Phinias Bamusi also making it into the final 11.

Former Chicken Inn striker and the current league’s top goal scorer with 14 goals Clive Augusto who is now plying his trade in South African for Maritzburg United, Evans Katema of Dynamos, ZPC Kariba’s Ian Nekati, FC Platinum’s Never Tigere, Ralph Kawondera of Triangle United, Wellington Taderera of Black Rhinos and TelOne midfielder King Nadolo complete the finalists’ list.

The Awards ceremony will take place on the 6th of December in the capital.
