VETERAN actress Rhoda ‘Mai Sorobhi’ Mtembe has died.
She was 79.
Mai Sorobhi died at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital on Monday after suffering a stroke last week.
The late actress’ grandchild and comedian Admire “Bhutisi” Kuzhangaira confirmed the death to ZTN Digital.
“It’s true she died this morning (Monday) at Sally Mugabe Hospital (formerly Harare Central Hospital.
“She suffered a stroke last week . The recent stroke came at a time when she was recovering from another stroke she suffered in 2019,” said Bhutisi.
Mai Sorobhi rose to fame when she featured in the Paraffin drama series in the early 1990s.
Mourners are gathered in Kuwadzana Extension.
“No much details are available as far as funeral arrangements are concerned but mourners are gathered at her house in Kuwadzana Extension,” added Bhutisi.
