MANDLA Mpofu will stay on board as Highlanders manager, but gets Joel Luphahla as one of his assistants.

The club confirmed on Tuesday in a statement to announce the appointment of Ronald Moyo as the substantive chief executive officer.

Bosso have been on the rise in the past three weeks and that seems to have given Mandla the lifeline after a difficult start to the season.

And it is the coming in of Luphahla, who parted ways with division one side Golden Eagles, that could completely change the fortunes of the Premiership giants.

“…The executive committee has reviewed the works of the Mandla Mpofu led technical staff and resolved to support the coaches and allow them to carry their mandate of competing for the ultimate prize in the league,” said Highlanders.

“Following the request to beef up the bench and have a full complement of the technical bench, Joel Luphahla has been brought in as the second assistant coach.”

Mandla’s charges are coming from a 1-1 draw with Caps United, a game that they could easily have won after an outstanding second half.
