The family of Marry Mubaiwa says the estranged wife of Vice President Constantino Chiwenga is not in “good shape” after spending 23 days in remand prison.

Marry was yesterday granted $50 000 bail, coupled with stringent conditions, pending trial on a number of criminal charges.

Her father Kenias Mubaiwa told ZTN this morning that their focus is now on getting Marry medical care.

“It’s good that she was granted bail but she is not in good shape. What we want to do now is get her the best medical care possible,” he said.

Marry is facing charges of attempted murder and externalisation of foreign currency, money laundering and fraud.

Yesterday Justice Pisirayi Kwenda granted her appeal for bail pending trial.

Justice Kwenda ordered Mubaiwa to surrender her diplomatic passport and title deeds to her Highlands home as surety.

As part of her bail conditions Mary is required to report once a fortnight at Borrowdale Police Station, not to interfere with State witnesses and to reside at her Borrowdale Brooke mansion until the matter is finalised.
