The father of Marry Mubaiwa, wife of Zimbabwe’s Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga, believes “justice will prevail” in his daughter’s case.
Marry Mubaiwa is accused of attempting to kill her then bed-ridden husband among other charges.
Kenny Mubaiwa was at the Harare magistrate’s courts on Monday and told journalists that he is not worried.
“Justice will prevail at the end of the day. We don’t have to worry about anything,” he said.
Marry is also facing charges of fraud, money-laundering and externalisation of foreign currency.
She is also being investigated on fresh allegations of swindling State aides of their allowances while on foreign trips, and grabbing vehicles awarded to Miss Zimbabwe pageant winners.
Harare regional Magistrate Chrispen Mberewere remanded Mubaiwa in custody to 30 December and advised her to apply for bail at the High Court.
