The family of Zimbabwean Nyasha Mugwagwa who was killed by terrorists in Mozambique’s Palma town has requested privacy.

In a statement on Friday, the family said, “No comments will be relayed at this point in time. As you can understand, the family is devastated, in shock and tremendous pain.”

The statement also reads: “The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Zimbabwe, who assisted behind the scenes, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy in Mozambique.

“The family will provide details in due course when we are in a better place.”

Nyasha, who was a catering manager in Palma, is one of 12 foreign nationals killed in the attack. He is survived by a wife and one-year-old child.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa recently said his Government will assist Zimbabweans affected by the insurgency.
