Updated September 15, 2019
The body of the late former President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe will now be taken to his rural home tomorrow (Monday), a family spokesperson has said.
Leo Mugabe, nephew to the late former President, told ZTN that Mugabe’s body will be taken to Zvimba, about 110 kilometres west of the capital Harare, to allow the community there to pay their last respects to the former President.
In a previous interview with ZTN yesterday, Leo Mugabe had said the body was to be taken to Zvimba on Sunday to lie in state, before being taken back to Harare, to be placed at a mortuary until burial.
Mugabe will be buried at the National Heroes Acre, after the completion of his mausoleum whose construction is expected to take about 30 days to complete.
Construction of the mausoleum is yet to start.
