MARVELOUS Nakamba has pleaded with his countrymen to be patient in the wake of Zimbabwe’s disappointing draw against Botswana in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Aston Villa midfielder was arguably the best player for Zimbabwe on the pitch but results did not go their way.

Speaking to ZTN Sport after the game the 25-year-old said he understood why supporters were not happy, but explained why they should not be disappointed.

“We understand very much that we should have won this match to make our qualification chances better as well as to make the country happy.“It is unfortunate we failed to win the game but our intention was to win and we are very sorry about that.

“But I do not think it is a disaster, after this result we just need to stay focused and concentrate on the Zambia game.“A draw is not a bad result at all but what we now need to do is to avoid losing especially playing away from home.

“Qualifiers are a marathon and we have just played one game so we need to remain calm, after all two teams will qualify and everything is still in our hands,” said Nakamba.
