Ngezi unfazed by Covid-19 impact

Ngezi Platinum Stars coach Rodwell Dhlakama says their target of winning the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League championship title has not been affected by the Coronavirus lockdown.
A raft of measures put in place to slow the spread of the virus has affected the game, and football authorities in Zimbabwe are yet to put in place a date for the start of the season.
Ngezi Platinum had said they will be challenging for the league’s ultimate price this season, and Dhlakama insists the target remains.
“Our target remains the same, that of winning the title, nothing has changed to that effect.”
“We are not sure when the season starts but whatever date we are told to start our target will be winning the title.
“This problem is not peculiar to Ngezi Platinum, it has affected all of us and I do not think anyone will say we are at an advantage or disadvantage because of the lockdown,” said Dhlakama.
Ngezi Platinum has competed admirably in the elite division but the league’s top gong has been eluding them.
Last year they brought in an experienced hand, Dhlakama to challenge for their maiden title, and the gaffer says he is equal to the task.
“We have strengthened our squad for the upcoming season, and I believe our squad is good enough that is why I have been saying we want to win the title,” said Dhlakama.
