Zimbabwe’s Transport Ministry has gazetted new toll fees, which have been reviewed upwards.

Private motorists will now pay ZWL $10 up from $2, minibuses will pay ZWL $15 up from ZWL $3, while buses will fork out ZWL $20 up from ZWL $4.

Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Biggie Matiza announced the changes on Friday through Statutory Instrument 172 of 2019 published in the Government Gazette.

Finance and Economic Development Minister, Mthuli Ncube announced the upward review of toll fees in his midterm budget review statement last week.

The toll fee increases, which comes on the heels of fuel price increases may trigger an increase in bus-fares.

This comes at a time when most Zimbabweans are preparing to travel for the Heroes Holidays.

A public bus traveling to Bulawayo from Harare will now be required to fork out ZWL$100 in toll fees, while a private motorist will pay ZWL$50 one way at five toll gates.

Zimbabwe last reviewed toll fees in July 2014.
