THE Pakistan Cricket Board’s move to tighten rules to ensure non breach of the bio-secure bubble will protect Zimbabwean players touring that country.

The Chevrons left the country on Monday for the tour at a time when the hosts’ nine players and three officials breached rules at the ongoing National T20 Cup.

The two teams will play three ODIs in Rawalpindi and three T20Is in Lahore set to begin on October 30.

Pakistan have since warned their players and officials that they will be expelled if another breach is recorded.

According to Skynews, about 12 unnamed members of the team were made to pay for their own Covid-19 tests after violating the rules. They tested negative.

“They have put at risk the integrity of the tournament and health and safety of their colleagues,” PCB director of high performance Nadeem Khan was quoted as saying.

“This is completely unacceptable to the PCB and following meetings with the concerned players and their team officials, it has been agreed there will be zero-tolerance for future breaches, and those violating the protocols will be expelled from the ongoing and future tournaments.”
