Parly seized with sex slaves case
Zimbabwe’s parliament will institute processes to ensure that about 30 Zimbabwean citizens among a group of women rescued from a brothel in South Africa are brought back home.
The South African Police Services recently busted a criminal syndicate where women were being forced into sex work, the majority of them being from Zimbabwe.
Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, Kindness Paradza told ZTN the women will be brought back to safety.
“We need to make sure that we bring them back…..the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be taking care of the operational aspect of the process,” Paradza said.
The Zimbabweans were part of a group of 50 victims among them males from other countries which included the Democratic Republic of Congo and Nigeria, and a few South Africans.
Zimbabweans have been falling prey to human traffickers in recent years. In 2016 about 32 Zimbabwean women were rescued from Kuwait after being lured by human traffickers.
