ZIMBABWEAN all-rounder Sikandar Raza reached 3 000 runs in ODIs yesterday (Wednesday) after a remarkable display against Ireland as the Chevrons won by 38 runs.
At 3 002 now, Raza becomes the ninth player to surpass the 3 000 mark in the history of Zimbabwe cricket.
Andy Flower has the highest ODI runs at 6 786 while Brendan Taylor is second with 6 677.
Among the active players, Sean Williams who is nine runs away from 4 000, is second to Taylor while Raza is third.
The all-rounder (Raza) will again be expected to play a big part when Zimbabwe face Ireland in the second ODI on Friday.
The win on Wednesday took Zimbabwe’s tally to 20 points on the World Super League table.
However, the Chevrons remain bottom along with Netherlands.
