Central Region Division One side, Sheasham have partnered Nichrut as they push for promotion into the premiership in the 2020 season.

The Gweru based side missed the region’s sole ticket to play topflight football on the last day of the campaign when they lost away to Dulivhadzimu.

The club has retained coach John Nyikadzino and also brought in three former premiership players from Hwange, Felix Chindungwe, Ernest Gwitima and Prince Phiri.

The bulk of the executive members which led the team in 2019 have left the club after failing to guide it to the premier league, and the current set-up is led by prominent Gweru lawyer Reginald Chidavanyika.

Club vice president Happiness Dziva confirmed the developments at the Midlands based side.

“We are starting pre-season next week, and the objective is still the same, that is, promotion.

“We have retained coach Nyikadzino who we feel has the capacity to win promotion, and we have also brought in some new players from Hwange, Felix, Ernest and Prince.”

“We have also got a sponsoring partnership from Nichrut Investments… and the chairman of the team is Advocate Chidavanyika,” said Dziva.

Nichrut has played in the topflight before and the partnership is likely to help the team’s fiscal obligations as they push for promotion.

Competition in the Central Region is expected to be very tough following the demotion of TelOne and Chapungu last season. Shabanie Mine is also competing in the second tier.
