Some MDC bigwigs who fell by the wayside during the party’s elective congress last month will know their fate this Wednesday, as its leader Nelson Chamisa is set to announce his National Executive Council.
According to a source, a number of former high ranking officials are anxiously waiting to find out if they will be included in the party`s decision making body.
“There is a meeting tomorrow where the party president Chamisa will make announcements on who will be part of the national executive council and standing committee. There is a lot of campaigning and jostling going on behind the scenes as some try to save their political careers,” said the source.
A party heavyweight who was hoping to land one of the top posts and lost said he is eagerly waiting to be co-opted into the standing committee.
The candidate however pleaded with ZTN news not to mention his name due to the delicate nature of the processes within the party.
The big names whose future in the party hangs in the balance include Elias Mudzuri, Douglas Mwonzora, Tracey Mutinhiri, Morgen Komichi and Lillian Timveous.
