Zimbabwe is working towards positioning itself as a regional technological giant through the establishment of innovation hubs at its tertiary education institutions. The country’s Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development Minister Professor Amon Murwira says Innovation Hubs that are being constructed at state universities across the country will start to function this August and they will equip students with knowledge and industrial skills.
The minister was speaking in an exclusive interview with ZTN News recently.
Professor Murwira said at the core of the innovation hubs will be the production of prototypes which some tertiary institutions are already producing.
The innovation hubs are part of the government’s new thrust of producing graduates who are geared towards employment creation and fostering development in the country.
