THE Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe board has been appointed.
The institution had gone for years without a board, with delays in its appointment being attributed to candidates failing to meet the required standards.
In a statement on Wednesday night, the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services announced that Ambassador Boniface Chidyausiku, Tendai Karonga, Vongai Makamure-Nduna, Chief Mabika, Oliver Mandipaka, Rodney Mazeyewe, Victoria Siphiwe Mamvura, Jonathan Mapinda, Audrey Chihota and Jennifer Chakanyuka make up the BAZ board.
The chairperson of the board is yet to be announced.
The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) and Transmedia also have new boards.
The ZBC board comprises of Dr Josaya Tai (Chairperson), Ambassador Thomas Bvuma, Tsitsi Dangarembizi, Heliate Rushwaya, Dorothy Mabika, Devnanda Popatlal, Reverend Thompson Dube and Brian Mutangandebvu.
The Transmedia board has Ambassador Mary Mubi (Chairperson), Clifford Mufiri, Raymond Takavarasha, Pamela Machingambi, Viola Zenenga, Margaret Zhou and Dalick Marandure.
