South African premiership football giants Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed interest in Belgium based Zimbabwe Warriors captain Knowledge Musona during the ongoing January transfer window.
Musona has struggled to break into the team at Belgian giants Anderlecht following his transfer from KV Oostende back in July 2018.
Speaking to South African media Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane eulogised the Zimbabwe international who played and made a name at rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
“Yes, of course, why not if he’s available?
“He’s the kind of player that I would take because I know he scores goals, hey and he’s a fighter. You know he’s like Khama Billiat.
“He is strong, his attitude is right, he’s a good player. So if we can get him, yes, why not? We would like to have him,” said Mosimane.
Meanwhile, Sundowns is on record for their pursuit of Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat who has formed a good combination with Musona for Zimbabwe in recent years.
The Kaizer Chiefs forward is on record as saying he longs for a reunion with Musona in the national team and Sundowns is willing to snatch both of them.
But Billiat pledged his allegiance to Amakhosi, rubbishing talks of a possible reunion with his national captain at club level.
“I have to honour my contract. I am there and I am happy [at Chiefs] and I want to win trophies with the team, especially now,” said Billat on Newzroom Afrika.
“I didn’t know that before that I requested to leave. Look there’s a lot of things that are being said, some I don’t even know. That’s how it is you choose to be professional, you get to take this thing that comes from outside,” said Billiat.
