THE state of Gwanzura Stadium is causing an uproar with commentators bemoaning it’s shocking deterioration while the Harare City Council claims that it is working on sprucing up the iconic football venue.

Exclusive pictures by H-Metro show that the Highfield stadium, in Harare, is in a bad state.

While social media is going crazy about the pictures the Harare City Council, who own and run the facility, claim that they are in the process of sprucing up the stadium.

“The maize crop at Gwanzura stadium does not in any way interfere with football activities. The maize crop is within the perimeter wall of the caretaker’s residency. Council is working on improving its stadia,” said the council in a statement.
