Zimbabwe has recorded its first case of a COVID-19 patient recovering from the virus while his wife and two children are on their road to recovery.

The trio is awaiting final tests as per World Health Organisation guidelines after initially testing negative.

Saul Sakudya, who was first exclusively interviewed by ZTN narrating his ordeal says he was given an all clear by medical authorities yesterday.

“I thank God, I have recovered fully, it was not any easy battle.

“Imagine having to live in isolation so that you save the rest of the family,” he said.

Chronicling his treatment journey and living in self isolation, Sakudya says it was not easy yet it had to be done.

“Imagine having to live in isolation so that you do not infect the rest of the family. I shared a room with my wife who was infected, while my two sons also shared a room as they were also positive.”
