Zimbabwe’s Covid-19 cases have risen to 63 after seven returnees from South Africa tested positive while quarantined in Beitbridge yesterday.
The Ministry of Health and Child Care confirmed the latest development and also revealed that 878 tests were carried out yesterday.
A total of 38 352 tests have been carried out in Zimbabwe since the onset of the outbreak on 20 March this year.
To date 25 people have recovered from the virus in the country while the death toll remains at four.
on Tuesday, the Health Minister Obadiah Moyo told parliamentarians that quarantine centres for returning citizens were now covid-19 hotspots.
“This is where we are going to get a majority of the cases. So far the highest number of positive cases is coming from amongst the returnees and it’s an issue to all of us,” he said.
